SECTION 7: RAW MILK STANDARDS







Cooled to 10C (50F) or less within four
(4) hours or less, of the commencement of

TEMPERATURE the first milking, and to 7C (45F) or less
within two (2) hours after the completion of
milking. Provided, that the blend
temperature after the first milking and
subsequent milkings, does not exceed
10C (50F).

Individual producer milk not to exceed
BACTERIAL LIMITS 100,000 per ml prior to commingling with
other Producer milk.

COMMINGLED Not to exceed 300,000 per ml as
commingled milk prior to pasteurization.

No positive results on drug residue
DRUGS detection methods as referenced in
Section 6, Laboratory Techniques.

SOMATIC CELL COUNT 750,000/ml; individual goat milk to remain
at 1,500,000/ml.

Note: Samples must be submitted to the Official Laboratory at <4.4 C and tested within 36 hours of receipt. For

SPC the samples are then well agitated, diluted, plated and incubated at 32 C for 48 hours, then counted under
magnification.
