Food safety experts, government officials, and citrus and almond growers were among the speakers at an informational hearing chaired by California Senator Cathleen Galgiani, chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture. Galgiani is gathering information on industry members’ opinions about proposed produce safety rules that are part of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
