My overall research goal is to help achieve sustainable production of healthy food. I am interested in livestock production systems, their relationship to human health, and identifying management opportunities that can limit possible deleterious interactions. Current projects are related to potential dissemination of pathogens such as E. coli O157:H7 and Salmonella spp. between livestock and humans. Advancing animal welfare through scientific research is another area of active investigation. I also am involved in developing unique delivery methods for educational material.
